How UNFO Works

The operation of UNFO-PLS is based on an elementary principle that adjusts and operates its mechanism according to the intensity of rain and storm water.

• In dry weather and no rain, the device remains closed and isolates the sewer system from the roadway, thus preventing the passage of insects such as mosquitoes or cockroaches, animals such as sewer rats, and even bad odors.
• With little or moderate rainfall, UNFO-PLS partially opens allowing the little water to drain into the sump without stagnating but at the same time retains foliage and other debris.
• During heavy rainfall, when the volume of stormwater reaches substantial levels, the valve of the UNFO-PLS device opens wide under the same pressure as the water and allows it to drain quickly, which drags all the debris present with it from the sump to the sewer.

• The UNFO-PLS anti-mosquito system has total compatibility with all siphonable drains in their standard and most common sizes, as can be seen from the table below.
• It is also a device designed to be durable because it is made of regenerated High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which guarantees its resistance to UV and infrared rays, acids and alkalis, and also to the most extreme temperatures both hot and cold. What's more, the material is even greener because it is totally recyclable.
